I Was a Cub Scout
with support by Rolo Tomassi and Data. Select. Party.
Manchester Roadhouse, February 15th 2008.
Its bands like I Was a Cub Scout that make you want to learn an instrument and create your own. For me, tonight, it was the drums. The whole performance aside, just the drummers was astounding, the whole passion and intensity was felt by me and many of my friends and standing right in front of hi, I felt the force; it was immense.
Going to see I Was a Cub Scout was a bit of an accident really, it was just a Friday night with nothing to do, and we stumbled across the gig, but I’m extremely glad we did as they didn’t disappoint. After the fantastic and enthusiastic support sets by Data. Select. Party (who are now my new favourite band) and Rolo Tomassi, the crowd was ready and waiting for the electric fuelled to take stage.
‘We Were Made To Love’ and ‘The Hunter’s Daughter’ really stood out, with the former being brought out in a live set for the last time, were real gems in the already glistening crown of tonight. The conversation between the band and the audience was flowing freely and it was a welcome change from the almost repetitive, impersonal sets you see many bands play today.
I’m now in the process of saving up for my first drum kit.
